Kurt E. Schabes, DDS graduated magna cum laude from
Loyola University School of Dentistry and has practiced
in Ada since 1985. Dr. Schabes is a member of Omicron
Kappa Upsilon (Honorary Dental Society), and Alpha
Sigma Nu (National Jesuit Honor Society). Dr. Schabes
is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the
American Dental Association, along with the Michigan
Dental Association, the Kent County Dental Society,
and the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Schabes belongs
to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has
attended numerous continuing education courses relative
to all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry.
Tammy graduated from Heartlands
Dental Assisting Program in 1987 and completed her
radiology certification at Ferris State University
in 1989. She has been practicing with Dr. Schabes for
5 years and has 16 years experience in chair side assisting
including 11 years in an orthodontic practice. Tammy
has attended a number of continuing education courses
over the years dealing with clinical aspects of dental
assisting along with patient management. She has been
a volunteer with Dr. Schabes at the dental clinics
of Clinica Santa Maria of St. Mary’s
Mercy Medical Center and Mel Trotter’s Ministry
dental clinic. Tammy has also been a volunteer for
Children’s Dental Health Month at the Grand Rapids
Children’s Museum.
Cyndie received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene
from Ferris State University in 1984 and she has been
in practice with Dr. Schabes since 1986. She was elected
into Sigma Phi Alpha (Dental Hygiene Honor Society)
in 1984. Cyndie has 20 years of dental hygiene experience
in general and family practice. She stays current of
continuing education seminars and credits. Cyndie also
volunteers at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum
during Children’s Dental Health Month and she
has educated children in local schools in dental hygiene.
Kimberly is a 1995 graduate of the Grand Rapids Community
College Associated Program in Dental Hygiene and she
has worked for Dr. Schabes at Ada Family Dentistry
since 1996. Kimberly has continued her education and
has recently become board certified in administering
local anesthetics. Her next goal is to become board
certified in administering Nitrous Oxide gas sedation.
She is a dedicated volunteer in teaching the importance
of dental care to the children in her home school district
of Hamilton.
Jerilyn graduated from Ferris State University in Big
Rapids and has 25 years of clinical experience in dental
hygiene. She enjoys furthering her education by taking
continuing education courses to stay current on changes
and advances in dentistry along with dental hygiene.
Developing trusting relationships with her patients and
focusing on their individual dental needs are most important
to her.
